Real Life Wedding: Megan and Dan

What do you do when you are a wedding professional and are planning your own wedding? In this blog, I’ll be looking back at a Real Life Wedding of the gorgeous Megan, a professional model and make-up artist who works within the wedding industry and has been cover star of numerous photo shoots, and her equally gorgeous husband Dan.

The Venue: Our couple picked a venue that was local to them and their guests as they didn’t want to disadvantage people too much with accommodation bookings. They also picked a venue that was a favourite of Megan’s with a gorgeous bridal preparation room and being ever practical, she knew it was brilliant for make up prep and dressing room photos because of the gorgeous windows and the light that cascaded through them – she wasn’t wrong!

Ceremony Decoration: Our couple choose to have amazing floral backdrops for their ceremony area and signing table and booked trusted supplier Charmaine Taylor of C.Taylor’s Florists to undertake the work. As the chosen Celebrant, let me tell you it looked and smelled gorgeous and it was a real privilege to have this as my ceremony backdrop. Charmaine also made spectacular guest bouquets and button holes.

The Cake: A beautiful cake with a layer purely for the Groom! The services of Rebecca from R T Cakes was engaged for both the stunning centre piece and the favours which were cake lollies and heart shaped biscuits – as a willing taster, let me tell you they were yummy!!

The Ceremony: written and conducted by yours truly, we had a blast in the planning as I heard all about their initially disastrous meeting and then all their subsequent adventures, the proposal, their new home and their hopes for the future. It was a joy to conduct a ceremony that included a really special hand fasting as well as good dose of humour and have their guests wave them off with bells on!!

The Reception: There were some non-negotiables for our couple and dance was at the centre of this. Megan loved the trend for having a father-daughter dance, a really emotional but beautiful moment for both of them, before she and her husband whirled their way around the dance floor like something out of a Disney fairytale, complete with golden confetti.

They ate, danced, drunk and were merry but above all else, they were confident in the knowledge that they had chosen exactly the right suppliers for them, who’s work they had seen before and who they went on to built a relationship of trust with. The end result was gorgeous and as far as I know they are still honeymooning!!
